The Trojan War was epicly depicted in the Brad Pitt movie, Troy, based on Homer’s famous poem, The Iliad. We are sure there were plenty of mysteries contained in the walled off city of Troy, but 12 Trojan Mysteries refers to the 12 symbols that can initially be randomly chosen as Mystery Symbols when the bonus round starts.
Of course, you’ll benefit from mystery symbols also in the base game, and it’s highly unusual to be able to win as much as10,000xyour stake from triggering the bonus round. TheMystery Symbol Boostersystem removes the lowest value symbols one by one from the selection meter, making the trojan horse mystery symbol more and more lucrative until only the wild symbol remains.
The golden apple wild can land on any reel, and it steps in for all regular pay symbols to help you form winning combos. The trojan horse acts as a mystery symbol, and all instances of it will transform into a randomly selected symbol if a winning combination can be formed from it.
You trigger the Mystery Free Spins feature when you land at least 3 scatters anywhere in sight. Up front, you’ll be awarded a scatter win of10x, 100x or 10,000x, respectively, if you land4, 5 or 6 scatterson the same spin. During the bonus round, you get +1 extra free spin per scatter that lands, with no upper limit.
You’ll start with12 free spinshowever, and theMystery Meterabove the reels will randomly select a symbol per spin. All pay symbols are included in the meter, as well as the golden apple wild. The trojan horse mystery symbol will always turn into the symbol selected in the meter.
All 12 symbols are removed from the Mystery Meter in chronological order per spin, from the lowest value to the highest. The wild symbol is therefore always selected on the final spin. Non-UK players can purchase the bonus round via the trojan horse menu down to the left, and this will set you back50xyour stake. The bonus buy feature does not affect the96.5 %RTP.
We have included a mystery symbol win in the base game, before we purchase the bonus round at 0:30 into the almost 3 minutes long highlights video. We’re not gonna reveal up front how we fared, but you can see it all for yourself by hitting the play button below.
With the excellent 3 Secret Cities fresh in mind, 12 Trojan Mysteries feels like a step back for 4ThePlayer when it comes to the visual presentation. The game looks kind of dated, but we get that this is probably intentional. The mystery symbol in the base game is hardly innovative, but the possibility of a 10,000x scatter win bonus round trigger will probably raise some eyebrows.
That is one heck of a pre-feature payout to say the least, and you might win up to20,000xyour stake in the bonus round. The chronological removal of symbols increases the tension per free spin, leading up to a grand finale where the mystery trojan horse turns into the golden apple wild. The random selection is a somewhat innovative use of the mystery symbol feature, but many times it’s far from being very effective.
Pros
Cons
Age of the Gods: Book of Oracle- is a ‘book slot’ installment in Playtech’s popular jackpot series, created by Ash Gaming. Winning symbols can expand also in the base game, and you get multiple chosen expanding symbols in the bonus round.
Divine Links- is an ancient Greece release from Blueprint, and landing 6+ gold coins triggers the Lux Reels streak respin feature. You can trigger the bonus round from within the hold and win feature, and there are 3 different options to choose from (low, medium and high volatility).
3 Secret Cities- is the best game from 4ThePlayer so far in our opinion, and it comes with a ‘bonus up’ system. Discover new cities via the scatter pick’em game, and upgrade the bonus round that comes with a progressive multiplier and super stacked symbols. The top tier feature can lead to 50,000x your stake payouts.
